Barban is a small historical town located on the plateau that separates the Labin area from the Pula area. The prehistoric hillfort was inhabited by the ancient Romans. Throughout history, Barban was also known for its strategic position, dominating the hill and controlling the valley and the bridge over the Raša River. Over time, the town became a fortress with walls, round and square towers, ramparts, large and small city gates and a castle. Barban is today famous for its knightly game Trka na prstenac, wine festival and fig festival.
